presentation to Elementary students about what we do as well as other
safety issues to look for. This program that was originally started in
the Great City of Agoura Hills with the help of Tony Falcone and Mike
Kalske is growing State and Nationwide. ICC has requested to have a video

PROGRAM
Presentation by Dr. Lucile Jones on “The Great Southern California
ShakeOut”.
Dr. Jones has been a seismologist with the US Geological Survey and a
Visiting Research Associate at the Seismological Laboratory of Caltech since
1983. She is currently serving as the Chief Scientist for the Multi Hazards
Initiative in Southern California, developing a new program to integrate
hazards science in urban areas with economic analysis and emergency response
to increase community resiliency to natural disasters.
Dr.
Jones' presentation provides a high level perspective of the impact of a
highly probable seismic event in Southern California and the ramifications
of that event on local emergency services. City Managers, City Executives
and Emergency Management Personnel are strongly encouraged to join your
Building Officials at this special presentation. The information you will
take home from this program may make you rethink your emergency response
strategy.
Additionally, members of each chapter and
representatives from SEAOSC will also be present for this meeting. Great
opportunity to get familiar with other colleagues of ours and expand our
networking.

Building Valuation Data.
The International Code Council® is pleased to provide the Building Valuation
Data (BVD) for its members. ICC publishes the BVD in an effort to provide
the most efficient set of information for jurisdictions to use. ICC strongly
recommends that all jurisdictions and other interested parties actively
evaluate and assess the impact of the BVD table before utilizing it in their
current code enforcement activities.
